Vilafranca to Azambuja Another 19 or so kilometers

John at the desolate train station relieving his dogs.

Cathedral at Azambuja.

Today's walk was more road mixed in with a bit of farm track.  The tomatoes grown here are a huge business. All over the side of the road.  I haven't got the guts to pick one up off the road and try it.  Soon enough I will get my chance to eat them till they are coming out my ears. Boy are they good!

Ended at the train station in Azambuja  (I REALLY like saying that name ) where 3 peregrinos came upon us. A Spaniard living in NY named Enrique,  an American from NYC Tracy,  and a German from Munich named Ralph. They were on their 3rd Camino together having met doing the Frances two Caminos ago. We all decided to walk to town together and ended up at the Flor Primavera pension. A decent private room with bathroom. Made our way to a bar for a beer and on the way back met the aforementioned crew for a few beers more.  Very funny group.

After showers we headed to one of the only pilgrim supported restaurants together for amazing soup,  fish and veggies for me and pork for John.  And of course wine. All very good. Dessert was the melon that is so prevalent that tastes like a cross between a honeydew and a pear. Very delicious!
